Urbahn is a dynamic architectural practice based in New York City. Since our founding in 1945, we have cultivated a diverse skill set and wealth of experience that enable us to craft tailored solutions for every project. Our team of passionate professionals is driven by a shared desire to explore how architecture can address the evolving needs of our communities and the world at large.

Shaping Public Realms

We approach each project with an open mind, but with a steadfast commitment to tackling the challenges with both precision and imagination. Across a wide range of projects, from modest structures to complex urban developments, we look beyond initial impressions and physical site. We embrace unconventional thinking and collaborate with like-minded partners who share our dedication to viewing the world through a fresh, critical lens.

Architecture as a Catalyst

We recognize the profound influence that architecture and design have in shaping the identity and character of a place. Regardless of a project’s scale or type, we strive to create spaces that nurture and enhance public life. We firmly believe that all architecture is inherently public, as it directly impacts the lives of people within a community, whether creating spaces for daily civic engagement or designing transformative institutions that serve the collective good.

Collaborative Design Process

Open, dynamic dialogue forms the cornerstone of our design process, from initial concept to final realization, and serves as the foundation for enduring client relationships. Through close collaboration among our principals, associates, and project teams, as well as engagement with all stakeholders, from policymakers to craftspeople, we ensure that every perspective is considered and valued.
