Lehman College Nursing Education, Research, and Practice Center
The Nursing Education Research and Practice Center emerges as a critical resource for the Bronx, addressing the neighborhood and its surrounding environs pressing need for healthcare professionals. The three-story structure harmoniously integrates with its surroundings, offering a contemporary interpretation that respects the campus’s diverse architectural heritage. Positioned between the Gothic Davis Hall and Brutalist Carmen Hall, the center’s design bridges past and present while focusing on the future of healthcare education. Emphasizing collaborative learning, the building features inviting communal spaces alongside traditional classrooms, laboratories, and faculty offices. This holistic approach to design not only facilitates academic excellence but also fosters a supportive community of future healthcare providers, vital to addressing the Bronx’s healthcare staffing needs.
