Marty’s story at Urbahn is the stuff of legends. What began as a temporary assignment on the NASA Cape Canaveral design team in 1963 blossomed into an extraordinary career spanning over six decades that has left an indelible mark on the firm and the countless lives touched by his designs. From his contributions to the monumental effort of sending man to the moon to his work on critical healthcare projects like the Children’s Psychiatric Center and Lincoln Hospital, Marty’s prolific and wide-ranging achievements are a testament to his unmatched knack for design and his unwavering commitment to architecture that meaningfully benefits the public. 

But what truly sets Marty apart is his restless creativity and his absolute inability to stop creating. Whether he’s sketching, painting, carving, or designing buildings, Marty is simply not happy unless he’s making something beautiful. His non-stop creative talent and his ability to elegantly solve the intricate puzzle each new project presents have made him a mentor and an inspiration to multiple generations of excellent designers at Urbahn. And yet, despite his countless accomplishments and his well-earned status as a legend in the field, Marty remains humble, approachable, and deeply passionate about his work. His wit, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to his craft continue to inspire all who have the privilege of working with him.
